Most/many of them say Windows-only although people seem to use some of them on Macs. There are various options for setting up flight simulators even to the point of VR equipment. But, a lot have Macs in my case, I rarely use Windows. It is understandable that MS Simulator would get a lot of reviews since most people have Windows computers. I don't think I would dare try to run that in a virtual machine on a Mac. It does look pretty nice but would require a fairly good gaming PC running Windows. I have an M1 Max MacBook now which should be a pretty good platform for X-Plane, in theory.Īviation publications, and even ARS, talk up Microsoft Flight Simulator. Probably need to invest in rudder peddles and flight control consoles. I was using a joy stick and that did not work very well. There is X-Plane which I tried for a while (on an Intel MBP). ![]() What I do want to know about is experience with flight simulations on a Mac. ![]() My regrets are for a different time and place, though. I have been an aviation fan for a long time, worked in the industry for many years, though not currently, but have never gotten a pilot certificate - much to my dismay.
